Montgomery Counseling Group (MCG) is a Charlotte-based mental health practice founded by John Burns, LCSW — a licensed clinical social worker with more than 30 years of experience across hospital settings, substance abuse treatment, family therapy, and employee assistance programs. John established MCG with a clear purpose: to deliver therapy that treats each person as an individual, not a diagnosis. MCG brings together a team of licensed clinicians who work with individuals, couples, families, and children across a broad range of mental health concerns — including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. Every treatment plan is built around the client’s specific history, goals, and pace of progress.
